"We had a fabulous stay at the Cliff House! The location is excellent, and the house is very quiet and peaceful. The way it nestles against the hill makes it very private--and there are no adjacent houses to block the views. The house is clean, comfortable, and its layout invites exploration. There are views of the lake from almost every room. The deck is the heart of the house, providing views both up and down the lake, and plenty of seating for taking it all in. There was lots of privacy between bedrooms. The master bedroom has so many windows looking out over the lake that it was like being outside. It's a short (but steep) walk to the private lakefront, which was grassy and comfortable, with a nice dock and plenty of lawn chairs. We were a group of five writers, but while there was space to come together for meals, there was plenty of room for each of us to spread out and have our own 'view.' Taughannock Park is only 1/2 mile away, with great walking trails and (for any interested families) an excellent playground. Ben and Dan were easy to work with and went out of their way to make us welcome. We arrived to find the makings for afternoon tea and a flower arrangement on the dining room table. It is hard to put into words just how relaxing and inspiring it was to be able to sit on the deck and watch a thunderstorm roll across the lake to the north. This one's a gem." - Jeanne, May 2010
